Have a cool idea for a recon mission? Has a commissar tasked you with fetching fresh bread from the other side of a riot? Are you bored of passing the time with your bunkmate's hiveworld girlfriend's picts and looking to find something to do?

Pitch an idea! Join in on one! Throw out ideas you'd want to get involved in and brainstorm with your fellow roleplayers.

Whether you want to be a participant or an active storyteller, you've come to the right place.

I got an idea and I'm just pitching it here what if we had some freshly conscripted/levied (Or hardened veterans) troops arriving on Valmaria / at Naris then getting an inspection and briefing about their new assigned warzone. It could allow people to play "green" characters (aka those who want to face 15 hour challenge) and to find out what exactly what they're getting themselves into. And officers characters could also get to play into this as they can be the ones inspecting the troops and giving them the briefing.

It would be nice to have some sort of introduction rp session for newbies like me who want to start getting involved.
If you are seeing this I didn't die or anything I just figured that because of my unabillity to remain involved regularly for long periods of time I might as well not bother the rest of the forum.

Both great ideas! (That perhaps could kill two birds with one stone!) I'll see if we can't set something up!

Here's a scenario:

What about catching potential psykers for the black ships?

Reports come in from certain places that they have kids doing odd things, so the Guard realize these are early witches and should be either killed or contained.

The thing is, some third parties may want them for other, possibly nefarious reasons: black marketeers, tau scientists, maybe even that rogue trader's planning something with them.

Black ships may not arrive any time soon. What do with a dangerous commodity?

Alright! There is a chapel that has been overrun and defiled by the heinous xenos and blueberry lovers. Sister Flair is looking for any Sisters of Battle or loyal imperial guard that are willing and ready to strike them where it hurts and take it back. Also keep an eye out for the traitorous witch Lucille who may or may not have gone there.

On the basis there was a bit of interest in the idea of folk playing Tau/sympathizers...

Somewhere along the line, how about a Werewolf/Mafia type plot where there is actually a Tau spy (voluntary or involuntary) amongst a group of Imperial characters.
(Mafia is a bit like murder mystery - only the person who set the scenario, and the spy's writer know who the spy is, and the rest have to try and work out who it is without incriminating themselves)
Add in pressure to catch *someone* and at least one viable/suspicious motive for each participant, with HQ pressing down.

I'd be interested in participating or helping run such a thing, but I'll admit I don't know a lot about Tau, or the background required.

So... With the release of "Fall of Cadia" I suggest a little thread in the RP section where separate stories of the guardsmen stationed on Naris trying to deal with the loss of Cadia. Like a civilian who heard a rumor or a lieutenant was briefed in a command meeting and now tries to hold himself from emotionally collapsing, some might grow stronger in faith while the rest think that all is lost and think if there's a stronger alternative for the Imperium (Greater Good?) Not much interaction between the players themselves but small replies of personal struggle that may or may not change and alter the personality of the character. What Do you think? could it also be implemented into the Comic, like a silent strip?

Also, it depends on the year. If Cadia fell before this even started, it may have to be quietly ignored.

It's the early years of the 42nd millennium, and Cadia fell in the final years of the 41st.

Some other bad news is that the eye of terror is growing, too, at an exponential rate, as the ending pages (apparently) hint at.

Good times to be alive, really.

Yeah, we just get to deal with Tau, Eldar, Orks, Remnants of Behemoth, Kraken, and Divergent elements of Leviathan.

Good times.

Honestly, I have mixed feelings about the news of the Fall of Cadia reaching the frontlines in-game. On one hand, I feel like the Imperium would do everything in its power to stall that news getting to the troops, but at the same time, it would be massively meaningful to the characters who were closely tied to Cadia, and the resultant morale hit would probably give our PC's commissars a real chance to perform the duties of their office.

I would assume, based off of the comic alone (and how I assume the comic will remain unaffected, since the plot was played out years ago), that the Fall of Cadia simply won't come up. Still, it's all up to the GMs (i.e. The people making the comic, running the forums, etc.).
