What is this?
This is a forum set up for roleplaying within the Warhammer 40k universe, particularly within the Imperial Guard, with a timeline parallel with the comic Eagle Ordinary. Here you can write, interact with each other and participate in events run by our writers. Things that happen in the comic may or may not influence some of the scripted events here, events that conspire here may or may not affect the comic. You can consider this a roughly parallel universe for all intents and purposes.

How do I get involved?
* Make a post in the and establish your character, check the sticky for post examples.
* Check the various rp areas (On Base, City Limits, Outside the City) for threads and stickies with plot rp
* Start a thread of your own, establish a scene and invite people to join in
* Check the in General for other folks looking to explore a scenario, or suggest one of your own
* Reach out over PM to someone you want to roleplay with

What are the rules?
* Be cool to each other
* Don't be a dick
* Don't do stuff that will get us into legal trouble

Is there anything else I should know?
* This is as serious or as silly as you'd like it to be, but please be considerate of your fellow RPers.
* This is more of a freeform roleplay than Only War or any particular system, but we have a if you desire some structure.
* It's considered bad form to kill or maim another person's character without speaking about it first OOC with each other
* Keep it classy. When exploring adult themes use your personal judgement, and when in doubt, take it to PM.

Do I need to play a guardsmen? Could I play a commissar or a grot or a sister or an astartes or a hive tyrant?
Play what you think would fit into the theme of the area, and use your best judgement. There's always the chance that a dead sneaky grot could sneak in, or a wayward sister might have found her way here, but it's unlikely that an astartes might find his way here without causing a stir, and a hive tyrant would most certainly spell the end of us all. Feel free to ask if you're unsure.

Can I play as/roleplay with a EO character?
The EO characters have been , and may very well join in if given the opportunity.

Do you have some sort of system to resolve conflicts and challenges beyond deciding OOC?

I have a question. Is it better to ask to be part of a session with private message or is using the rp thread fine when it isn't specified?

Also hive tyrants are forbiden but what about lictors?

So not sure if this is the right place to ask this.

I haven't played an RPG before ( excluding video games) so I have no idea what the rules are. I am very interested in participating but don't know if it is too difficult catching up to everyone.

Can anyone give me an easy guide to look up?

For character creation is there a general format to follow? i.e.

Name:
Age:
Height:
Weight:

And so on.

[Raises hand] What is the preferred format for OOC if a lengthy discussion pops up? Sometimes forums use dedicated OOC threads for longer situations, so I'm just curious.

Also can we run 'couples' if they're not disruptive? (Do talk to others, don't gank folk, just kinda use the dynamic for different commentary, etc)

Greetings everyone.
I am a new arrival here and it will be some time until I can get a hold of who's - who and what's going on in all the current adventure threads.
But I had some time to read many of the players characters and backgrounds and I've thought that I could offer myself to draw those who wish to have a portrait for their little guy/girl. In my experience, rpg players tend to empathize more with fleshed-out characters.

This is not a commission offer nor artistic promotion (since I suck a lot, specially at painting) therefore I'll take time to draw anything you want me to do.

How many storytellers are allowed?

Do we need an official storyteller to run a scenario or perhaps some other unworthies with access to rule book materials could attempt a campaign?

Are we allowed to do a swear?
Or would would censoring and 40K-ised cussing (feth, etc) be preferred?

And awesome! ..my couples are definitely more Statler and Waldorf than romantic, so taste should hopefully not be an issue.

Are we allowed to play as commanders? If so, What is the number of troops in our disposal? Captains (in my case) usually have 120 soldiers, or the case is different here, considering the Planetfall was costly?

Greetings,

I would be interested in joining though I would like to ask whether or not an Adeptus Arbites member would be allowed from the planetary government or Imperial Navy liaison on the next reinforcement leading a small party of Naval Armsmen as an escort that gets shot down in a random sector sending out a distress signal.

I'm refraining from posting an actual character until I know what can be confirmed or not because what I have in mind is very specific and technically a specialist rank in which there are few of outside of a major theater of war.
