Considering the groundskeeper is a moshpit of billions of dead souls & their emotions, I'd say 'fuck off' won't get you far...

Indeed. Worst time out ever, doubly so with time being a very loose concept in the warp

The Fate of Konor is the first campaing of the 8th Edition.

"The worshippers of Chaos seek to smash a path through the Imperial battle line to Macragge, home world of the Ultramarines. Should they succeed, the greatest Imperial stronghold in the sector will be gravely threatened, and Guilliman’s forces will be cut off and surrounded.

To achieve this end, the forces of Chaos must conquer the powerful, well-located Konor System. The Konor System embodies the glorious dream of Ultramar. Crucially, it also guards one of the few stable warp transit routes to the Macragge System. If the Chaos advance is not halted, Konor will soon fall, and a path to the heartland of Ultramar will be laid bare."

Holly hell is the guy Bellisarius Cawl a danger. No, seriously, he just gives no fucks: he has stolen xeno technology and applied to the Primaris. He has made batches of primaris from the TWENTY LEGIONS (yes, even the lost ones) and when confronted about it by Guilliman, he sent his AI (Cawl inferior which masquerades as a sanctioned program) to deal with him because he gave no shits about the issue. He's a heretek by his own recognition (not told publicly of course) with the intent of using Guilliman to become Fabricator-General of Mars to a) Make the rest hereteks and b) Experiment on the shards of the void dragon/necron tech in general

WARNING! SALT AHEAD! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!

And the worst part? If Gullimann and Cawl could equip, train and produce this amount of Primaris Marines and their shiny new equipment, why the Frak did they not focus on the Infastructure instead? Imagine this much resources being distributed to the IG or evolving Feudal Worlds to much higher standards of production. Yes, it will take at least 40 years of massive imperium wide technological uplifting but think of the rewards to this, Hundreds of Carapace-clad Guard Regiments, tought by the remaining Kasrkins to an entire new standard of combat, Baneblades for everyone.
The Space Marines may be superhuman soldiers, but their entire use is a scapel, not a wall. The Astartes don't hold the line, the Guard does. So when the whole Imperiun under siege thing happens, what would a commander prefer? 10000 epic ultra super mega warriors clad in Ultrasmurf Wardian Plot Armour who could save a planet in a week, or 10 million Guardsmen with not as good equipment but can sustain casualties and hold the line on hundreds of worlds?

Rant over. Carry on

But how else would they justify more models for the Space Marines

So... I just got out-ranted by 2 people? I get it with one, but the second is just finishing it.

Oh well... if they abolish the Codex Astartes restriction on marines per chapter then there is a chnace to return the astartes to their original purpose of line-soldiers. Entire Legions? Eh... not certain about that...

They probably won't do Legion sized forces. If not for Warmaster Horus, then definitely because of Lugft Huron, Chapter Master of the Astral Claws and Tyrant of Badab.

what talancir said, although in theory you could have all the successor chapters band together with their founding chapter to get back to legion like strength and numbers (like the imperial fists did with their 'last wall' protocol) to date that has only happened once due to contingency plans of one primarch for a very very VERY specific set of circumstances
