if she was suprised by the news that the tech priest was refusing entry to even his krieg wardens then cheslock didn't show it, it was factored into her calculations on his condition as she analysed the ingots from a distance

"so he is able to create and sustain a stable artificial gravity well in order to improve the alloy fabrication process, and is also to repeat this with consistency, very impressive. name is jane cheslock, rank Magos biologis, sub rank metasurgeon, i'm afraid i'm not attached to any regiment, but i am the assigned caretaker in the base paddock and double as an alternative senior medicae in the medicae tent" she mused out loud

"you say that the alloy production has increased significantly, by what factor are we talking compared to the previous production rate? no need to give figures just a simple percentage or multiplication increase will suffice, I fear he may have become...'disconnected', and if he has we may not have much time"

Wyss' brows furrowed as he wrote, either remembering or calculating on the go.
"On the First week since the lockdown, production rate decreased by 50%. Second week onward it increased by a multiplayer of 1.5. We assumed that he increased his production to match the total expected yield but now he increased it further to 10% growth every 5 days. These could simply be stockpiles but unlikely considering the wall and door plating."

He finished filling in the blanks, stamped it and sled it to the Metasurgeon's side of the table.
"These are the terms I am allowed agree on."
He met his biological eyes with Cheslock's Bionic and spoke in all the seriousness befitting the contents. Body Language did not show any hidden threats, but a very direct fact.
"Be advised, it is not the first incident on which the Data Predator was hunted by other Mechanicus members. thus far, all accusations were false and valuable time was wasted to prove his absence of guilt. Pratextus is an effective and valuable asset to the regiment. His termination on false claims will not be tolerated."

"Now, do you require any further assistance?" He sincerely asked.
A Captain's paperwork composes 90% of his schedule now and even Kriegsmen are not entirely looking forward towards dealing with the Munitorum Clerks and their inefficient long honorific pronunciations.

[[Translation of Permit:
554th Krieg Compound Interior Guard
9453/554th Krieg Underground Complex
To Whom It May Concern
Subject
Permit of Access to Workshop of Data Predator Stagsimus Pratextus, 9453/554th Krieg Underground Complex.
This Permit allows Magos Biologis Metasurgeon, Jane Cheslock, Adeptus Mechanicus Valmaria, access the workshop of Magos Xenologis Data Predator Stagsimus Pratextus for confirmation of his absence of guilt and Adeptus Mechanicus Guidance.
Any irregularities that in the Metasurgeon's Proffessional Opinion require further observation should be reported to #9453/1-101 Cpt. Johannes Wyss.
Should the Data Predator be undeniably guilty of a crime in the eyes of the Metasurgeon, his detainment will be carried out with the assistance of the 9453/544th.
Data Predator Stagsimus Pratextus is a valuable war assent and his termination will decrease the 554th Krieg Regiment's combat efficiency and an alternative to his methods should be presented before the Regiment Command to maintain current capability.]]

"I see we have a little miscommunication that has occurred" cheslock remarked after studying the form handed to her "i'm not here to determine his innocence or loyalty or to harm him, disconnection is completely unrelated to such things and far more nuanced. tell me captain, how familiar are you with medical conditions such as depression or post traumatic stress?" she paused for a second while finishing her tea

"a rhetorical question. anyway being disconnected is the mechanicus term for such conditions, when an indivdual is disconnected, the body, mind and soul have gone out of sync in reaction to experienced turmoil and discord, simply put the mind has been greviously wounded if you will, like all grevious wounds if not tended to the affected individual will die. but given the nature of the mind and the soul it is not something that is as easily treated as a shrapnel wound or promethium burn.

once an individual becomes disconnected, they typically experience a void of sorts where their usual pursuits no longer derive any satisfaction, their first response to retreat into themself and throw themselves into their work in an effort to fill said void, not realising that to do is an exercise in futility as the best way to remove that void is to confront that which has brought their mind into turmoil in the first place, but given the reluctance of most to revisit or re-experience that which is causing them pain, treatment can take quite some time, as it involves a degree of convincing those afflicted that they need help" she set the cup down and stood up

"this dramatic increase in alloy production is clearly a symptom of his disconnection as is his barring access to his quarters to you, and without our intervention to help him, stasgsimus will eventually expire in there, and that bunker will become his tomb"

There were some things that the Captain could tell about Shellshock and the various effects it had on the troopers under his command due to the irregular nature of his regiment until they learned to simply brush it off. But that was back when he was still a Colonel-Candidate on Krieg so he kept that information to himself. Orders are Followed.

The new information was intriguing. The Hauptmann did not fully understood the practices and conditions of the Adeptus Mechanicus though he made his best to record them and attempted to figure them out on his own. 'Disconnection' will be added to the library later...

"The Permit is still valid." Johanness answered "It's basic function is to grant access. Precautions were added to avoid drastic actions so that 'Mechanicus Guidance' could not be misinterpreted as permission to plant a Bolter Round through his Cortex for: 'Better Electricity Conduction'." That was actually true and not was meant as a comedic remark, even though it definitely was.

"Nevertheless, Success with minimal losses to production value or rate will be commendable. Do as you deem fit, I have no experience within the Machine Cult so trust in your judgement."

"very well" jane answered in response, conceeding his point regarding precautions

"that will indeed be all, and i shall report back once progress has been made" with a nod she turned and began to leave only to stop
"i almost forgot" reaching into her robes the metasurgeon walked back to the desk, stretched out her arm and placed what was in her hand down on the desk surface, several tiny metallic clinks faintly resounded as a pile of hairpins was deposited
"i believe these are yours, figured you'd want them back. also you should advise your subordinate #9453/8-201 to refrain from trying to feed the shetland pony when she frequents the base paddock, hands and fingers can only be reattached so many times, have a pleasant day."with that the metasurgeon left, if he was paying extra particular attention the captain would've noted there was a small degree of mirth in her voice

[[jane has left the office, concluding her side of their interaction]]

Ignoring the smell, #9453/1-101 looked closer at the pins. An alternative method will be required to gather Intel from the paddock area. Especially with the Metasurgeon able to hear should she want; the faint Vox static they emitted when under the effect of a particular signal in a particular proximity.

His Voxlink to the Interior Guard Checkpoint called in:
"Unit #101, this IGC 4-23. As Ordered, Confirmation of Magus departure."
"IGC 4-23, Report received"
He Pressed the button activating the Door Lock and stood up from his chair, cleaned the table from the teacups and placed them in a hermetically sealed bag. Then the Captain and quickly scanned the Office for any listening or observing devices left by the Magus, when the scan was complete, Johannes rearranged the office back to the regular state.
After making sure the office is once again presentable, back in top condition and efficiency of power usage he accessed the Special Safe. There will be some Files requiring updating and correction -now and after the DNA analyzation from the Metasurgeon's Teacup: Even though he doubted spit would travel through the tube if she had spit, a confirmation of 99.9% is always optimal than none.

[[Instance Concluded. Timeskip and Setting Restart]]

It might be a little too early to lock that door.

No sooner had Metasurgeon Cheslock left the room, than Engineer-Hauptmann #74-C-2802/E - known to those who bothered with names as Markus Schulze - arrived from the other direction. As 'D' Company's Captain, he was no stranger to these parts, though being an Engineer he was rarely a stranger to any part of the complex, his dataslate and measurement tools always on his person and his mind ever working on assessments, expansions, and improvements to the architecture. #74 hadn't made an appointment, which he never did anyway - the concept of having time where one wasn't available was alien to the Krieger, and he'd never adopted the practice himself. Thus, when he knocked on the reinforced door - five precise raps of the knuckles, never anything else - the idea that Wyss might not be prepared for his arrival never crossed the Engineer's mind.

"Hauptmann #74-C-2802/E. This unit seeks permission to enter."

Folding his arms behind his back after stating his identity, #74 waited patiently for an answer. Though he was technically Wyss' superior officer in regards to the 554th's hierarchy - 9453/554th Platoon was a subcomponent of D Company, after all - #74 kept to courtesy.

The Hauptmann was cleaning the Desk of evidence when suddenly the Knocks and entry request were heard. He sped up the cleaning and quickly lowered the light settings back to the gloomy environment the office always had -Operational state but power efficient.
Cataloging the new information will have to wait.

"Entrance Granted" permission came in a slight delay, not too fast to not be noticeable but not too slow to be out of normal answering time that could be interpreted as 'sleeping on duty'.

The Hauptman was standing next to his chair. The 9453/554th Company, though somewhat free to maintain it's own operations received orders from "D" Company when conducting Regiment-Scale Operations so the seniority of the Engineer-Hauptmann was understood to unit #9453/1-101, Who saluted to the entering Kriegsman.

"Unit #101 Ready to receive Orders, Engineer-Hauptmann."

"Affirmation."

Hauptmann Schulze entered the room with neither pomp nor decorum, his hands folded behind his back. As always he wore his Engineer-spec respirator mask, one eye lens enlarged as a targeting optic, and for once he was actually wearing his crimson officer sash, worn from his left shoulder to his right hip so as not to obscure his carapace armour's spotlamp. Though it was impossible to read the expression on his face, his pose implied neither anger nor impatience, his posture calm and collected.

"Hallo, #9453/1-101." A completely unnecessary pretext to the conversation, though extensive contact with the Munitorum was probably starting to rub off on #74. As if that introduction was enough, the Engineer-Captain produced a dataslate from the cornucopia of supplies sequestered on his person and presented it to Wyss, the device displaying what appeared to be a standard-issue inventory form - specifically for krak grenades, and a recent request for a higher-than-average supply of them.

"Nummer Zweiundvierzig Krakgranate. Supply issued to 9453/554."

He produced another dataslate, this time with a series of incredibly blunt testimonies, the shortest being merely two words - Detonations, West - attributed to one #22-B-9809/E. They all attested to one thing.

"Units report in-complex detonations precisely thirty-five minutes and twenty-seven seconds ago. Sounds approximate to krak charges."

The engineer produced another item, this one a hand-printed docket from the Engineer Corps. "Siege augurs detect limited seismic activity concurrent to previous statement at der Keller."

The Cellar. Some of the 554th used it as an informal designation for Stagsimus' quarters in the complex. No-one knew who had originally suggested it, and #74 was one of the only soldiers to actually refer to it as such. He'd originally ordered it built as a shell storage unit, but that Mechanicus adept had stolen it right from under his gas mask and refused to budge, a fact that irritated the siege engineer to this day.

Not that he'd admit that, of course. But some obvious truths don't need admitting.

"9453/554 is attempting to damage the base complex. Explanation."

Short, blunt, and to the point. #74 wasn't here to mince words, he was here to find out why people were throwing krak grenades at his precious walls.

Unblinking, unmoving and in full attention the Hauptmann explained in clear and monotone voice -befitting to speak between Krieg Officers.

"Breaching of der Keller. Increase of HMA (Abbreviation for 'Hardened Metal Alloy' by the 554th)
Production, barricade and action explanation refusal by Mechanicus Personnel Pratextus caused suspicion for committed Techno-Heresy. Breaching equipment futile: HMA fully replaced Walls and Doors. Meltasprengstoffe remained unused -collapse danger. Krakgranaten implemented to minimize support walls collateral damage. Siege Augurs detected Final detonation prior to Senior Mechanicus consultation. Mechanicus Consultation occurred 3 Minutes 32 Seconds ago. Further breaching attempts ceased indefinitely: Krakgranaten futile, Issue will be solved by Metasurgeon Cheslock. Necessary Repairs conducted by Pionierkadern Sechs-eins und Sechs-zwei."

The troops of the 9453rd have a tendency to keep to themselves most of the time and rarely speak, but when asked for details; They will voice the most detailed account they possibly can -provided there is no 3rd party listening of course.

To say that the HMA was the only pet project of the Xenarite was an understatement, but it was the one known to the Hauptmann as it was one of the only projects that left Stagsimus' Workshop.

"Der Obrest knows." Wyss simply stated, adding this Tech Priest into the 554th must have a benefit; providing repairs to make the war machines even better than when they left the assembly line was one of them but the proposition of better Armor Plating that will take time to research and manufacture with almost no cost on behalf of the 554th was a long-term investment -even if unknown to some.
"This Company provides the necessary resources unusable in other circumstances."
That was true, Stagsimus supplied his own electricity and the Kriegers had nothing to do with hundreds of kilograms of Tau Tech that were meant to be destroyed. By who? Stagsimus Pratextus, who also volunteered to destroy Xeno Technology and deny the Tau or Rebels chance to reclaim it.
The fact that this information reached the Obrest before the 9453rd was assigned under the "D" Company or the exact method of manufacture were none of Wyss' Concern -even if he had some theories.

"Metasurgeon Unit Jane Cheslock conducted scan of the HMA during consultation, Metasurgeon Unit deemed it an acceptable replacement. Unit Cheslock will attempt to breach der Keller without waste of time and resources. This Unit did not receive information on the method. Recommendation: This is a Mechanicus Matter and will be solved by the Mechanicus without need to interfere, Further Information on the nature of the HMA can be accessed from the Metasurgeon Unit."

"Affirmation: Efficiency should be held at the highest priority, complacency is by definition; blindness to potential threats. Unknown Threats pose danger to Efficiency. This Unit Does not tolerate complacency.
Clarification: This Unit does not tolerate Techno-Heresy, therefore Senior Mechanicus Consultation was conducted.
Clarification: No need to interfere when presented with sufficient results.
Affirmation: Obrest Richter is not an Idiot."

There was no smugness in his voice in the last statement -it was true: Progress within the Death Korps' Ranks is acheived through competance or mere survival. The body language remained as it was, even if deep inside the Hauptmann thought otherwise. Personal Opinion is not a primary concern within the Death Korps, Obedience is, and on that; Unit #101 and Company 9453/554 delivers plenty.

[[OOC: How can one turn 'Smartly' on heel?]]

The Hauptmann accepted the Dataslate and saluted the departing Schulze, basic levels of etiquette have not been canceled yet and even Wyss acknowledges their importance.
He patiently waited until the departure of #74-C-2802/E and after the door was closed Johannes locked it shut -preferably for a few hours. Now he needs to fill all the required documents including the new knowledge he gathered today.

After amassing the the paperwork before him on the table, Wyss reached to a drawer and pulled out an old Lho Pipe and removed his right glove, the electricity passed through it could be amplified on will to increase the surface temperature of the metal implant to significant levels, enough to ignite the Lho inside the Pipe. When the Plants were properly ignited, the Kriegsman heavily sighed as he began filling the Paperwork. Stagsimus will be unable to fill the report due to his alleged condition, so he must write a warning to Cheslock on this new development. Not that a potential death of Stagsimus will sadden the Hauptmann in any way but there will be a loss of good resources and solutions to several problems that the Xenarite can solve -Resources and solutions the 554th Death Korps Command simply refuses to acknowledge -even if he'll somehow receive the backing of the Metasurgeon.
And of course; a Direct Report to Obrest Richter, *ugh* the dread... it must be sufficient enough so he won't need any more information to be delivered in person -anouther meeting between the two will do no good at all. No good at all...

Truth be told: Were Johannes in the Obrest's position if not for the *Incident* then he will not act very differently -The small tweaks to the standard behaviour were the difference between the 554th and the twice-dishonored 945th, but that slight difference was enough to made the Krieg War machine work much less effectively if those regiments are to be combined.

Blessed be the God- Emperor for giving the Damned 945th a second, and last, Chance.

Fresh from the Tribunal, #28 impassively knocks on the door three times like his brethren before him. Or was it just common sense? Probably the latter... This is supposedly the first time he has met the Captain of the 9453rd, all thoughts previous to this moment were swept away. As he has.. Some expectations from a, Barely known Regiment, notherless they are his kin and he shall treat them with respect as he wants them to return the gesture. (If they’re capable that is.) As he has with one particular Truppen of the 9453rd...

After an unsettlingly long period of time, which in reality took no longer than 3 seconds, came the reply, muffled through the heavy door:

"Entrance Granted"

The office, in which the Krieg Hauptmann nested himself was at an unaltered state, the visitor is supposed to be a Krieger, no environmental changes will effect how they perceive the conversation. So the Dim Light of the Desk Lamp and the even dimmer light of the room's lighting allowed for minimal sight; kept functional.

The inhabitant of this room sat at his paperwork-filled desk, filling some form or anouther. The Respirator Mask in a loose tie, lowered to the level of his chest, a Laspistol at its usual place on the table. He made quick glance to affirm that it is Unit #28 by barely moving his head and more shifting his eyes. With a quick gesture of his pen-wielding hand he interrupted any words that he may had and pointed for the defective to take a seat, before continued filling the form.
The Seat was uncomfortable, yet the Captain did not pay much attention to #28 until the report is complete.
Putting down the pen, Unit #9453/1-101 locked his piercing gaze into the Defective's eyes straight into the supposed soul of Drocol, should he be inside there. No smiles, no greetings, mild contempt at best.

"#28-D-0715, this Unit arranged the Transfer to this Company over Final Dispensation. Unit is expected to match the expectations put in by this company despite discrepancies found in personal file. Is that clear?"
