Joseph was now regretting a few things this day. In a short few moments, both the Krieger and the sergeant had managed to cause both confusion and delay in their original goal. Although he could tell that Wilfred was hinting to something, he did not at all appreciate being roped into such a task. The Becaran was starting to learn just what kind of sergeants these two were.

With a sigh, Joseph head over to where the tarp would go. As he climbed up, something did catch his eye. Although the ground was well trodden by the pony, the Bacaran had dug and filled in enough holes to tell that the centre of the pen had been turfed. The process of moving the top layer of grass and other materials before digging so that once full in, such digging may be concealed once more. Although this was a clear sign that their search was over, the fact that it was a clear sign worried him. There would be others on base who could make the same deduction, hopefully the pony had served his purpose in protecting the treasure.

For now though, he carried on as if he hadn't noticed. At this point, the only person he was keen to share his new find with was the only one who had not gotten them into this situation.

Another Bucket of water was emptied over the ground and again the mop uselessly scrubbed and sloshed in the mud the Kriegerin just created, Cleaning efforts were becoming ever the more frantic and hasted with no progress in the horizon.
The more water added, the more mud was created and none of the concrete expected to serve as floor and foundation to any permanent structure was found beneath this huge cover of dirt, one might think that this housing complex was made without properly laid foundations or adherence to construction regulations at all, but that's

A) Not a thing a member of the Death Korps could even conceive of and
B) Not a thing this Kriegerin was briefed about.

And so the mud continued to pile up and deepen to a point where it would be closer to resemble the Vraxian Pastures after a refreshing month-long torrential rain than a dry pen indented for the quarters of any animal.
With enough Determination however, this Kriegerin will surely dig up concrete even if her only tool is a mop and the Ruins of Pre-Imperial Naris City are 400 metres deep.

Even when the scary Sergeant made it pretty clear she knew Hat was there the Chem Dog didn’t move. She waited for footsteps indicating people were leaving before standing up. She brushed herself off as her eyes fell upon the mentioned tractor. What many people don’t know, or care to know, about Hat is that Valmaria wasn’t her first warzone. Before coming here she fought on Armageddon alongside the Steel Legion and it was a rare moment that even her regiment went anywhere without transportation of some sort. She looked over the controls to confirm that she indeed knew how to drive it before replacing her current hat for a orange hard hat and sliding inside with a big smile. It’s been a while since she got to drive something.

As Joseph came over Hat keyed the ignition and the machine roared to life, giving Hat a satisfied grin. Once he was there she leaned over and asked, “What’s the plan? You know where it is?”

She doubted anyone could hear them clearly over the din of the engine.

Hat listened and nodded. She agreed; NCOs can’t be trusted with this and they certainly can’t trust Erika from what she just pulled. Joseph then asked if she had any ideas and complimented her hat.

“Thanks,” she gave a small smile as she knocked a little on it to indicate that it was hard. She looked over the console for a moment as she tried to think of something. She found herself starting at a spot of rust. Suddenly, a spark lit in her eyes as an idea flared.

“I got something Joseph, but you gotta be quick. Play along and grab the side,” Hat pointed a thumb at a said of the tractor. Once he got on, she put it in drive and started on her way to the old pony pen.

Wilfred looked around for the the troopers who seemingly just vanished until the roar of an engine and saw the tractor. He didnt think they would need a tractor to move the crates and tarps but who knew. He would have stood and waited for the two but a thought struck him. He turned to the ogyrn "Allright bud, you go wait by the crates. get ready to help move them." He jogged his way to the tractor before turning tail and worked on keeping up to its side. "Allright." he called out to Joseph and hat when he got within hearing range "while you two hook on the tarps keep an eye out for anything unusal in the pin Ill work on covering ya. Also the Krieger up and vanished."

with considerable effort and a little bit of finesse, marida and urz had managed to maneuver the pony towards the stall erika had said was available as a temporary lodging while they rearranged everything else. course when she got there the Sargeant was greeted with the sight of the kriegerin in question trying to make a quagmire in the stall using a mop.

"what. are you doing?" marida called out "we're only putting it in the stall temporarily"

The Kriegerin, for her part, was nearing the end of her nigh infinite determination and had already considered further options should the concrete floor refuse to reveal itself further. At the appearance and question of the Sergeant, the situation expedited their employment.

"Ma'am, this Unit attempts to cleanse habitation stall from Dirt for usage." The scout stopped and addressed the Sergeant. "Reporting lack of Ferrocrete Floor. All Permanent Base Structures require solid foundation, it was not found." Unit #8-316 looked at the floor again in case the dirt finally moved and returned its gaze back to Marida, in what could appear to be some sort of confusion.

Hat was just about to the spot Joseph pointed out when the familiar voice of one eyed Sergeant spoke out to them, ordering them to hook on tarps while he tried to look around for clues and ‘cover for them’. Erika disappearing was also concerning but they had bigger ones, like Manner possibly ratting them out or taking their loot. Joseph pretended not to hear him so Hat decided to follow suit.

“Huh?” she pretended to look confused. At this point they were next to the spot with the tractor on Joseph’s side and the tractor being between the spot and Manner. Her hand slipped to a button on the console and the tractor suddenly died. She looked down with a confused look and feigned trying to start it. They could hear sputtering but the engine didn’t want to start again. Her eyes looked to Joseph, gave him a wink, then gave a frustrated scowl as she hopped off to the opposite side of Joseph. She looked around as she pretended to find what was wrong before opening the hook and looking back to Manner.

“Hey Sarge, is there a tool box over there? Maybe I can fix it.” she pointed behind him in the general area.

With the wink, Joseph had to force himself not to smile as he faked a look of bewilderment. Clever girl! If she could distract and cover for him long enough, he would have it dug up in no time! Even if the treasure was bigger than expected, this would give him and Hat first dibs on the loot!

Leaping into action, Joseph hopped off the tractor and disappeared behind it. Out of view, the Bacaran pulled out his e tool and began digging as fast as he can without drawing attention to himself.

[[Roll to dig quickly. Roll=0+3 quick=3.
Roll to do sooo without being noticed.Roll=-3+2 sneaky=-1]]

Joseph excitement grew as after a couple of shovel fills he noticed the outline of a box shape below the surface. What he didn't noticed that the dirt he was rising to the side was spreading past the cover provided by the tractor.

[[Other than Hat, anyone wanting to notice Joseph must beat a roll of -1 to notice him]].

despite herself marida felt her eyebrow twitch at erika's response "that..will not be necessary" she eventually replied after taking a moment to compose herself, "go and see if the others need help with the tar-" the sargeant stopped mid sentence as she turned around to see keith holding the pony in both arms, the fact that it had yet to react did not go unnoticed. without a word she walked back outside to where the others were, her attention drawn to the tractor engine cutting out.

when she got there marida was quick to notice the growing pile of dirt next to the tractor, and immediately went over to investigate, grabbing the penal troopers arm and shovel in her hands as he was in the middle of depositing another load of dirt.

"why is it that out of the entire group no one seems to be capable of following basic instructions?" she asked tersely, glaring down at joseph and whatever it was that he was digging up

With the roar of the tractors engine the troopers responce was understandable at the moment. He watched as the tractor slowly died infront of him and the sputtering of the engine. Chewing the inside of his mouth as he scanned it up and down. Blinking as he heard Hat ask for a favor.

Wilfred nodded for a moment as he turned around to grab the tool box. "Ma' taught me a few prayers to sooth the spirit's be-" his eyes catching moving dirt from around the tractor. Fresh dirt. He moved around from the tractor for a sight. The other Sargent Holding onto a shovel and a hole in the ground with the faint image of a box appearing. He took a deep inhale threw his nose as he took a moment to look over how cracked this had turned out. The Krieger missing. The penal legionaries aparently "forgot" to tell him what they found.

Bitting the inside of his lip as his one grey green eye glared out at what was scene infront of him. Like a comedic vidpic on guard life. His eye lidding a bit as he stood and watched as he sighed rubbing his good eye as he watched. Word will be had in a moment. His gaze turned to Beckett as he spoke up "Who's ass or asses needs a boot in it?" He said for a moment "there my troopers at the moment so I have to handle this." he stated "just tell me the crack ups are and Ill handle it. " He half lied.

[rolled a 2 in clever to see the dirt.

rolled a 4 in clever to (half) lie about him handling it.]

marida didn't know exactly what joseph was thinking he tried to tackle her, suffice to say that it was a poorly considered move on his end by all counts. digging her heels into the earth joseph barely got more than a few feet before his progress came to a stop, to which the Sargeant then demonstrated her physical prowess by levering the bacarans arms up and over her before grabbing his wrists in a very firm clasp.
To say that marida was not amused by this would be saying that water is wet, and any consideration she was giving to let wilfred handle this on his own was swiftly shattered in a heartbeat.

"SLONE! GET OVER HERE! URZ! SIT ON WHAT THE PENAL TROOPER WAS DIGGING UP!"

within seconds a large scarred Gusion came bounding up and promptly parked all 500 lbs of carnivorous reptile directly into the small pit that joseph had dug, not far behind was corporal slone who looked rather concerned

"uuuuh..you bellowed?" he began, very unsure of how to proceed without provoking his surperior

"get. this. fool. off my paddock and into the brig!" marida growled out "as to the rest of you, either do your job or join him there! AND I'LL HAVE YOU RAKING MUKAALI MANURE FOR A MONTH!!"

Hat was fiddling with some of the insides of the tractor so she could do something to fix the it if she got called out on it so she didn’t see Joseph’s progress nor hear the Prometheron Sergeant sneak up on him. Both the Sergeants descended upon them, ready to dish out something unpleasant no doubt. Then Joseph did one of the most bizarre things she’s seen. He tried to pick the female Sergeant up but ultimately failed. Now he was being taken to the brig, that Corporal everyone talks about parked a fat lizard over their loot, and they had a pissed Sergeant on their hands as she threatened them to do their job or join Joseph in the brig.

Hat had no such plans for the brig was a horrible place and she now realized she was their last hope in getting whatever loot was buried. Nothing was worth losing friends over but now that she lost one to this loot she had to do whatever she can to get it. Flame Lord, whatever is in there better be worth it, she thought bitterly.

Everyone seemed afraid to speak for no one wanted to get burned by the Sergeant, Hat included, but she had to get things moving. Be best for everyone anyway because, in her experience, people standing like statues after a move order made things worse.

“I was just asking the Sergeant for a toolbox so I can get this tractor fixed,” she said sheepishly as she leaned her head toward Manner to indicate he was the Sergeant she was referring to, “Then we’ll get going. Shouldn’t be long.”

[Rolling Clever to trust Sgt. Manner]

Keith simply nodded to the lady's words, walking into the pen with that same silly look on his face. As Erika leaves the pen, there is no sign of Keith coming out...

Ah, being restrain. This would be the third time in his life that Joseph had found himself in this position. All things considered, this could have gone slot better. As the situation and the chances of him getting out of this better off quickly deteriorated, the Bacaran simply looked to the skies above.

'Good Emperor, why must my life always lead to this? Have I not tried to do right by you? Do you wish for me to be constconstantly locked away? Well, I know your will is greater than mine, so your will be done o Emperor.'

Joseph's thought were then disturbed by the sergeant yelling at everyone in the general vicinity. Considering that he was already done for, Joseph decided that he wasn't really anything else to lose. In for a penny, in for a pound. "Temper temper, no need to yet at everyone else just because your not a fan of hugs." He said in a polite manner.

Wilfred would stand there. His eyes widened in absolute mixture of terror, fear, and a strange mix of respect for the man as he attempted to rush off with the woman in his arms. His mouth opening for a moment in the hopes of at least somewhat trying to contain this crackup. His face flushed a bit as the woman shouted out at them. He kept his face neutral as simply nodded and turned on his heel. "Trooper Erika if you could be so kind. Find trooper Kieth and have him move the creates in place. Then help him with the tarps on top." He kept his voice as calm as he could. As he walked around the tractor he waved his hand at hat "Trooper hat. Help me find the tool box please. My eye is gives me troubles with changes in light." he said waiting for a moment when the two would be out of ear shot of the reasonably fuming Noncom. He would keep his head facing forward as he whispered to the penal trooper "What in Vulkans eternal flame was that cracking shite?! Answer truthfully Trooper." Blinking a bit as the light changed while entering the shed.

seeing joseph about to dig himself deeper figuratively speaking corporal slone went into action, doing as ordered in an effort to diffuse things
"ok buddy, come on" he said in an apologetic tone, grabbing onto the bacaran's arms and gently leading him away "lets not make this any worse than it is" as the pair walked away he shot a sorry glance towards hat before leaning down to whisper into josephs ear

"just what in the emperors name do you think you were doing?"

meanwhile sargeant beckett took a moment to compose herself before walking over to where urz was siting, patting the creature on the head and wondering what it was that was being dug up before looking back at erika and hearing her sitrep

"...good work corproal, assist as sgt manner has directed if you don't mind" marida replied, her voice much softer after having calmed down, before she turned her attention towards hat "understood trooper, keep at it"

whatever it is that was being dug up can wait until after we're done, she thought to herself, taking a dim view towards contraband being hidden on 'her patch'
