FAQ

If an item (or lack of it) would earn you a serious reprimand, or is just something you wouldn’t expect to get from a supply store, it is (probably) here.
Example: Bootleg primers where the very back few pages are full of saucy limericks instead of the Ode to Yarrick.

What does running a shift entail?
Drop me a PM. You will answer the trade requests of folk coming in that day, and perhaps earn yourself a few perks if you do a good job. You’ll also get first pick of what comes in that day.
If you cannot finish your shift, your NPC partner will cover you.
If you are running the stand on a day that a character wishes to make an inspection, you’ll have to do some rolls using the FRAK system: One for your character getting away, and one for hiding the contraband and book keeping. If you wish to perform other actions, they can be added.
There will be no fatal results (unless you particularly want one), the worst possible outcome is severe disgrace, and perhaps even losing your next shift until the coast is clear.

What does inspection entail?
Firstly, drop me a line. I will simply confirm no other bugger is inspecting it on the same day, and that the poster due to take a shift hasn’t given notice they’ll be MIA.
Then, rolls. You will be making opposing rolls versus the character manning the post and few variables such as location, the length of time since the last inspection, etc.
If you succeed, you’ll earn a bit of kudos, and of course that dreadful contraband will need disposing of, if you found it.

No one knows the original purpose of the building sitting next to the motorpool. Situated amongst the refuse of thousands of tank repairs this smoke stained structure had become known amongst the men of the guard as the ammo and mod shop.

Behind a rusting security mesh reinforced counter is a solid door and its manned (if that's the right word) by a floating servo skull.

Today the "Shop" was eerily clean and neat, behind the facade of a dirty abandoned apartment complex a heavy door opened to a room. Reinforced Counter, a few shelves lined with supplies of dubious origin and the lady that manages it for today, her face was pale white, with a bit of barely noticeable colour as result of little tan, light Blond hair that could easily be mistaken for white in certain lighting and deep Royal Blue eyes constantly shifting from one shelf to the little book she held in her hand and to the small window outside, awaiting for customers or first signs of trouble.

The man pulled his grey frock coat tight around his body as the wind whipped around him, his hand holding his field cap down on his head. After a quick, yet not guilty, glance around his surroundings, he steps into the outcrop and leans against a wall. He pulls his cap up from its slouched position to reveal a set of violet eyes peaking out. A hand slides out of a overly long sleeve, pulling back the coat just enough to show a bulging bag with the unmistakable bulge of currency. And the las pistol tucked right behind it. It wasn't to anybody in particular, but the person running the, -ahem-, just sitting by some unremarkable boxes, to get the idea.

It was unusual for mechanicus agents to go to places like this, but with a sack of probably legally gained coin, Kalusia stiffened her back, hid her dendrites, and walked up to the boxes, "Ehem...You wouldn't happen to have a...ah...forty Megafarad supercapacitor hiding in that box, would you?" She needed one to fix up her station, and the motor pool had so far refused to even order the heavy, expensive part that only one machine on the entire world used. "I can pay..."

Tick was feeling more than a little paranoid today. Some days he felt better, others he flinched at every shadow. The medications he was give sometimes helped, if he could remember to use them and not turn the bottles in to acid grenades. But recently he'd been running low on supplies to make his precious devices of destruction. Krast had said he could get any more yet, but there was probably other suppliers out there.

"Bunch of eldar spy's I bet..." he muttered as he made his way to the shed. One bonus of replacing sleep with recaff is you heard much more gossip that others. The Shed was supposedly a good place to pick up on goods in times of need. And he was needy.

As he came to it he saw a cog head leave, with a woman sitting on a crate. Beside he was a sack, and she looked like death.

"do elder look bad? No...no no no they don't she's safe..."

"Hey." He said eyes darting around to make sure no commissars, or harliquins, were around.

Ollie tilted his head to register Hawke's arrival, very slightly. As she leaned, two mechadendrites picked up the sack and began neatly tidying the contents by type, before returning and adjusting Samantha's uniform slightly, including tucking her shirt label back inside where it should usually be, and removing a balled up sock from inside her lower left trouser leg.
"I would say, "Morning", but I'm doubting you'd be able to verify it actually is." a fairly neutral voice chided her from under the hood.

Seeing Tick arrive, the techpriest murmured, "I'll let you handle this one. You're probably still moving slowly enough to fall under non-threatening."

"Ugh. Thanks, mom," Hawke growled at the techpriest as he fussed over her. She snatched her spare sock away from him and jammed it in her pocket as their first customer came cautiously creeping up.

He took his time looking her over, and she regarded him with bleary-eyed disinterest in return.

"Hey," the twitchy, nervous man said.

"Hey," the groggy, dehydrated woman replied. "You need something?"

Tick was lost to his own paranoia for a moment, glaring at a suspiciously shaky bush, when Hawke brought him back.

"Want? Oh want...want want want...oh right. Bombs. Or no, not bomb. Bomb parts. Parts for bombs. I don't have any, that's why I want them. See I make bombs with the parts but I don't have the parts to make the bombs. So I need the parts whichwillletmakethebombssoicanputhemandwaitfortheeldarcausetheeldarwillcomeandwhentheycometheykilleveryonebecausenooneexpectstheeldartocomesosoweneedtprepareandputmineseverywhere, everyroadpathalleydoorwaybunkerwarehousetreeandbushANDTHATBUSHJUSTMOVEDsoineedthepartsfomybomb."
He blinked, obvious to the minor melt down he just had, eyes darting back to the bush which seemed to be closer. Or further. No maybe it was more to the right...

A unknown lightly sun-kissed, handsome, man was walking towards the gathering. Noticing the blue band on her wrist, he knew he caught her on the right time..

As the man got closer, causally walking towards them, you could see his piercing light blue eyes scan the group. He slows his approach as he listens to Ticks loud ramblings about the Eldar being everywhere. He places a hand on Ticks shoulder as he turns and stares at the bush.

"You've got to relax.. There's no Eldar on Valmaria, they're probably a million light years away."

His voice was smooth, sharp.. Identicle to a Cadians. But had an accent. But you can't put your finger on it.

"OOooOOooollie..." Came a voice from around the corner of the latrines, followed by a familiar (to the Mechanicus) lime-haired woman. She was dressed far more casually today, in a tank top that showed off her tattoos, with her uniform belted around her waist, the sleeves loosely tied around her hips to keep the sleeves from dragging. With her rebreather dangling around her neck, her face was exposed; she was chewing on something- likely a stolen plastic straw from the canteen from mealtime. Pulling it out from her mouth, Tracy leaned over the robed male, poking him with the spit-soaked-and-well-masticated end, cutting through the sworls of blue smoke.

"Ollieeeeeeeee~ D'ya have what I want?" Waltz poked his brow with the straw, before she glanced alongside at the gathering of people clustered around the back end of the shed.

A Cadian woman she wasn't acquainted with, but had seen around the base sat there beside the Ollie she was harassing, and she held up a hand with a toothy grin, "Hey gurl."
