History: Orphaned at a young age, Johann spent most of his time in the care of the Ecclesiarchy and the branch of the Conclave of Confessors on the upper levels of Heidenschloss Hive. He was taught how to read and write in both high and low gothic by the Lord Minister and by the Brother Chaplains of the Angels of Penitence. And for the most part, it looked like he was going to join the Ecclesiarchy, but when several other hives of Kalphas Prime rebelled against the Governor and the Imperium at large, Johann was swept up in patriotic fervor and enlisted with the PDF, much to the chagrin of the Lord Minister. Johann spent a lot of time at the front and in the thick of heavy urban fighting and by the grace of the Emperor, he managed to live through the ensuing campaigns to push the traitors from the hive.

Sgt. Schultz and his unit were deployed to Naris to aid in it's recapture by the Imperium, but they took heavy losses throughout the campaign before he and his remaining grenadiers were rolled into the 653rd Prometheron Combat Engineer's Regiment and transferred again to the 9453/554th Death Korps.

Friends and Allies: Other than the men and women in his assault team, no one really, tends to keep to himself and reads classics of Imperial liturature

Enemies: The frakkin' Mechanicus. The general consensus of the Kalphas system is that the Mechanicus are holding back the march of technology and should be purged with maximum prejudice.
