She thought that her transgression upon Drocol's hair would remain unpunished. And she continued thinking so for the following 3.5 seconds until a physical assault was registered in an area also known as a ----Rib Caaagggeee------

This day, unit #9453/8-316 learned that she is ticklish.
Thankfully, her composure was maintained even if the cracks on the surface were already noticeable by the manner her upper lip was trembling and one of the eyes was twitching. Krieg training tested and expanded upon her endurance to pain and the art of not showing it.
This burst was contained and masked by a deceptive sip from her flask.

The Astartes Setting was intriguing but still grounded in reality however glorious it surely is for Astartes, this idea of "Playing" is meant to relieve combat stress in the form of distraction and escapism: 2 concepts that are utterly alien to Kriegers.
Horror is meant to scare the viewer. It has no effect on those born on Krieg, and thus do not match the objective.
Historical Setting is interesting and may provide glimpses to Humanity's forgotten past.
And Fantasy is the utterly inexperienced, new and strange.

"Mmm, I've seen enough weird stuff from the Eye for a life time, so horrors out. Always wanted to be an Astartes, but I like the sound of fantasy." Krast said as he looked over the pictures. He wondered if it was heretical to play a sorcerer in this setting, even if a commissar was present.

The Krieger crossed his legs and studied the photos, and thought heavily on the three choices presented to him.. It would be futile to vote for the M30th Roleplay.. As Fantasy seems to have pierced their minds, due to curiosity. He reclined further into the chair and made his choice. “Let’s see where the world of Fantasy takes us..” Truth be told.. the genre of Fantasy has peeked his interest as well.

The quartermaster rested his face on his hand and used his other hand to research fantasy on his data-slate. "What the frak is a troglodyte..?" he looks up and says "I think I would prefer to play fantasy, with being an Astartes my second choice." He takes a sip of his drink and organizes the rest of his notes, when he's done he puts Siphon on the table and starts cleaning her focusing crystals.

Commissar Yorke smiled brightly at the responses. It seemed there would be very little argument over the type of game. he felt a little relief, as the variety of people
"So, Fantasy it is this week. And then Astartes for the next session."

Reaching into one of the folders he was carrying, Cat pulled out a paper sheet each for those gathered, and handed them out.
"For tonight we'll use pregenerated stats, but you can choose your character types." the commissar fanned out a spread of cards with fantasy characters and races, "You can take the same as someone else, it's not exclusive."

Setting back down in his seat, and pulled out the relevant books for a fantasy setting. Lifting one of the smaller boxes from the table, he also rummaged and pulled out an assortment of small scale figures, based on little discs. Someone had tried rather hard to paint them, with varying success, but reasonable care.
He placed the mix alongside the character cards, for people to choose from.

Hat figured it was going to be Fantasy but was happy to hear that Astartes would be next session, putting a smile on her face. The Commissar handed out some paper and then fanned out some cards as he explained that these characters were pre-generated and they could pick any they want. He then pulled out a small box and started setting down little figures next to the cards and waited for them to choose. The Chem-Dog only needed a brief glance to realize that none of it really made sense to her. Elves? Dwarves? Constitution? Sleight of Hand? And the numbers, so many numbers? To someone growing up in a mine and knowing nothing of this stuff or how it works, it was a bit overwhelming.

She quickly turned her attention to the little people. They looked... cool. She leaned forward on the table to get a better look. They had some great detail to them, even for being so small. She looked through all the different ones, some were kind of familiar with armor like some people here and a few looking like Orks, while others she never has seen before like one that looked like a lizard. One of them caught her eye. It was a woman who had pointy ears like what Eldar supposedly had, but what really interested her was the fireball in her hand. Being careful to grab just the base, she picked it up and looked it over. Giving a satisfied nod, she turned to the group, held up the figure, and asked to no one in particular, "Where's her card sheet thing?"

Holland leans forward in his seat and studies the small men, taking in every aspect of their appearance. His eyes catch on a human wearing a long cloak aiming a feudal world long-range weapon with one hand and holding a curved dagger in the other. "I want that one, but I've gotta ask, where is the magazine in that pistol?"

Krast was feeling a bit warmer now that he had finished his drink, and looked over one of the books. So many different things to choose from. While not the strongest reader, he saw a lot he thought was interesting. Rogues, warriors, sorcerers, and a lot more. He wasn't sure what he should do, so he just looked around at the figures.

Many were brightly colored, and very well detailed. Looking through a few he saw one that caught his eye. A large looking lizard creature, with small horns and a tail. It was holding a sword in one hand and a shield in the other. He looked like a fun guy. "Hey, whats this one called? Seems neat."

Imagination was not particularly high in the Death Korps' list of preferences opting instead to concentrate on Mental indoctrination, even though Unit #9453/8-316 was among the most able in terms of thinking in a Krieg Regiment that actually acknowledged its use, there were some problems... Among the Provided Miniatures she could recognise Base-Strand Humans, Ratlings, Ogryns and even Squats but the rest were more akin to the enemies of Humanity, so they are meant to cooperate with the Humans?

An unending chant pulsing through the Soldier's mind could not let her see anything but Hostiles. Her Muscles tensed, her eyes darted to the Commissar's. Did he suggest they should play as the Xenos? Furthering Xenos' Goals? It couldn't be right, there must be a reason for it. Perhaps for mental flexibility to be implemented in war?
Erika reached and took hold of what can look like an archaic Eldar Farseer with a staff and not very protective clothing
"Kommissar, Do some of zese miniatures and zeir respectiff characters reprezent Xenos? Are ve authorized to play as Xeno Psykers?"

After thinking hard on the figurine he picked, Drocol revealed the miniature he chose. It depicted a stoic looking Human. The man wore his iron armour with pride, that’s eerily similar to the Severan Dominate. But stood confidantly as he held his shield who had a sword sheathed in it. “I choose this.. What does the sheet say about him?” He doesn’t seem to be bothered by the multiple Xenos races, and Pyskers that littered the table.

Hat smiled when someone decided to help her. The Commissar handed her the character sheet then explained what she was playing along with the intricacies of the information presented. The Chem-Dog could read just fine, it was something she learned on Armageddon, however playing a game involving pencils, dice, paper, and no fire was something she had no experience in. The thought of playing someone who could call upon fire with their fingertips really excited her. He then gestured to the party, saying that she would have to trust. At this, she visibly shrunk. Granted, she didn't know anyone but there was only one person she truly trusted, and that was the 'uncomfortable man' who gave her the amazing white beret. It's not like she didn't want to trust them, she would love to have more friends, but she doubted they would reciprocate any trust she would place in them. She didn't blame them; she was a Chem-Dog after all.

The Commissar turned to help the other players who were engrossed in picking out their characters. Seeing no one was paying attention to her, she straightened up in her chair again and decided to look over the character sheet. This person was Fiona Sparkstar, an Elf Wizard who had a lot of fire spells. This caused her to smile. She loved fire. The comforting warmth, the vigilant light, and vengeful destruction it wrought, just like her beloved Flame Lord. There seemed to be a small disagreement coming from the Krieger girl who questioned whether it was legal to play Xeno psykers, which the Commissar rebutted that they weren't real Xenos but 'fake Xenos'. Hearing this caused Hat to look down at her character. She never really considered that her character was a 'fake Xenos', she just really wanted to play someone who played with fire.

The answer was... Unconvincing to the Kreigerin, but sufficient enough to make the uncontrollable urge to put a Las-sized explosion in the Commissar for Heresy cease.

Matching the Name under the base of the Miniature to a Character Sheet, the Kriegerin began reading the contents of the Character's Personalities, Equipment and Abilities.

Elf Wizard 'Sword Singer' subtype. Apparently made for close quarters combat using some sort of sorcery instead of functional armour. An interesting thing to say the least.

"Dragons, huh. Well seems like a good fit." Krast looked over his sheet. Ux Sherjir, of clan Krillar. So he was suppose to get up close and chop the enemies to bits, while protecting the others. Seemed straight forward. He could even breath fire. Looking around he saw that others had picked theirs. Hearing the Krieger and Cat talk about "fake xenos" was rather funny to watch. He guessed if the creatures weren't wholly Xeno, they could still be considered Imperial citizens, right? Ratlings and Ogryns were abound, and they were pretty far off.

By the time the Commissar finished talking with everyone else, Hat had managed to go over her character sheet a few times. She still had little idea of how any of it actually works but she thought she had a decent grasp of her character. When the Commissar spoke up to all of them, her attention was instantly grabbed and she took in his words like a sponge. Don't act like you normally do. Act and think like your character. Don't assume anything about other people. He then said they started in a tavern that had a bar, a notice board, and a buffet. He then added they likely crashed a wedding. They also knew each other and sought adventure.

It was a good speech, but the only problem was that Hat what her character was beside they were an Elf and played with fire. What was an Elf even? Like an Eldar? Well, if they were anything like an Eldar they would be graceful, mysterious, and aloof. Hat wasn't any of those things. That was kind of the whole point of this though, wasn't it? Be something you weren't. She looked up to her companions, the other characters with her, before turning to the Commissar.

"Commissar, since our people know each other do you think we should introduce ourselves so we have an idea of who the people we are traveling with are?" she asked him.

"Oh!" Cat grinned, pleased to see Hat taking initiative, "Yes, that would be very helpful. Describe what folk around you would see and know about you. You don't have to reveal any secrets or plans. Those are for you."

The commissar nodded, "We can just go round the table."

Hat nodded then looked at the other players and characters and noticed that there was only one other Elf in the party, the Krieger girl. An idea sprung into her head but she was hesitant. What would the Krieger girl think? She doubted the other would go for it and the idea was a little crazy but... it could be fun. She leaned over to the Krieger girl and whispered, "Hey, would it be okay if our characters were sisters?"

The Commissar said to not act like themselves and she always wanted a sister. They were both elves so they could pull it off. This would be probably the closest she can get to one.
